Norbu Sherpa
Norbu Sherpa origins from the small mountain village of Ghunsa, located beneath the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga, and spent his childhood days chasing the yaks in these mountains. Through his unwavering determination and passion for adventures, he became a skilled climber.
He has also traveled the world, visiting places like Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria, China/Tibet, Sichuan, Kyrgyzstan, Tanzania, India, and Pakistan. He is well-versed in multiple languages, including English, Indian, Tibetan, and Nepali, and can speak them fluently.
Norbu is a passionate mountaineer and explorer with an impressive resume. He has tackled many of the highest peaks in the Himalayas, including Mount Everest (9 times), Lhotse (1 time), Cho Oyu (4 times), Dhaulagiri (1 time), Manaslu (2 times), Gasherbrum II (2 times), Shishapangma (2 times), Muztagh Ata (1 time), Annapurna IX (2 times), Peak Lenin (1 time), Himlung Himal (1 time), Baruntse (1 time), Lakpa-Ri (2 times), Mount Kun (2 times), Ama Dablam (2 times), Kilimanjaro and numerous peaks of 6000 meters.
Norbu was also featured as one of the main protagonists in the Swiss documentary “Sherpa’s the true hero’s of Mount Everest” in 2008. The documentary was also awarded the best documentary at numerous Alpin film festivals. Besides this, he was also featured in global publications like The New York Times, SPIEGEL ONLINE, SRF (Swiss TV), DW, watson.ch, etc.
Tashi Chhumbel Sherpa
Tashi Chhumbel Sherpa is a talented and multi-faceted member of The Wild Yak Expeditions team from the Kanchenjunga region. Known for his exceptional mountain skills, he is a reliable companion in addition to his charmingly humourous personality.
Tashi has been with Wild Yak Expeditions since 2014 and has personally ascended some of the tallest peaks in the Himalayas as a climbing Sherpa for our clients. He has been successful in Everest expeditions for years and serves as a trekking guide while also handling administrative duties for the company. Years of experience in harsh mountaineering conditions have furnished his skills as a profound leader with impeccable managerial skills.
Kami Temba Sherpa (aspirant Guide)
Kami Temba Sherpa was born near Mount Everest’s base, the world’s highest peak. He has always been hardworking and honest and is known for his energetic nature from a very young age.
At the young age of 26 years, Kami has achieved impressive mountaineering accomplishments, including scaling Everest and Manaslu three times, among others. Mt. Cho Oyu is his favorite climbing destination, and reaching the summit of K2 remains one of his proudest moments. Starting as an assistant guide in the Everest region, Kami’s dedication and strength have led him to take exemplary leadership roles on numerous expeditions with TheWild Yak Expeditions. Kami is on the way to achieving the UIAGM (International Mountain Guide) soon.
Pemba Sherpa
Pemba Sherpa was born and raised in the foothills of the highest peaks in the region of Pangboche. With an undergraduate degree in Tourism from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and extensive experience climbing 8000m mountains, Pemba is one of the qualified Sherpas and ice climbing instructors.
Pemba is one of the dependable members bringing a high level of technical knowledge and possessing excellent soft skills in communicating the technicalities of your demanding journey simply and easily.
Ngima Tsering Sherpa
Ngima Tsering Sherp, born and raised in the Solukhumbu region in the foothills of Everest, is a passionate mountaineer with great knowledge and extensive experience in climbing. He has already climbed Mt. Everest (3 times), Manaslu (once), Ama Dablam (2 times), and other 6000 m peaks.
His expertise in climbing, combined with a deep sense of responsibility and passion, makes him one of the most valued and committed members of the Wild Yak Expeditions team.
Gyalsten Sherpa
Gyalsten Sherpa was raised in the Solukhumbu region, at the lower elevations of the mighty Mount Everest. With his upbringing deeply rooted in the mountain environment, he has developed a keen sense of living in these harsh conditions and further polished his skills as a mountaineer.
Gyalsten has conquered many peaks over 8000 meters and has honed his strength, courage, and expertise. He is proficient in multiple languages, including Nepali, English, Hindi, and French, enabling him to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds effectively. His positive, honest, and courageous nature have made him a valuable asset to the Wild Yak Expeditions team and have helped the company and its clients reach new heights.
Fura Diki Sherpa

Fura Diki Sherpa was born with the call of the mountains in her soul; even as a young girl, she would marvel at discovery stories from her father and seek adventure. Now an experienced mountain guide for Wild Yak Expeditions, She has conquered Mount Everest and numerous 6000 peaks. With an array of certifications under Her belt—including trekking guideship—Fura continues to conquer new heights every season.
Hisse Gyalpo Sherpa
Born in the shadows of Kanchenjunga, Hisse Gyalpo Sherpa developed his love for expeditions at an early age. After joining the tourism industry in 2008 and becoming a certified trekking guide with impressive culinary skills from Tourism Centre and Greenland Hotel Management, he has forged a career as one of Wild Yak Expedition’s most reliable cooking chefs. Hisse Gyalpo Sherpa is an incredible chef who brings energy and warmth to every expedition. He’s a true asset, creating unforgettable culinary experiences with his skillful cooking at high altitudes that leave adventurers satisfied and truly energized for their adventure ahead.
Over the years, Nepalese Sherpas have developed a reputation for being skilled mountaineers due to their long history of living and working in the mountains. They are born and raised in the mountains, making them familiar with and adaptive to the terrain. Additionally, Through access to specialized mountaineering training, these natives have become some of the most skilled mountaineers on Earth.
