Visa Procedure

NEPAL – BHUTAN – TIBET

NEPAL

Before booking your Journey to NEPAL, check first the validity date of your passport. Passports must have at least 6 months’ validity after the end of your trip.

Nepal is among the countries where obtaining a visa is easy and fast for travellers. There are two quick ways which we recommend for travellers:

At arrival

Either you apply for the visa on arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, which might take around 10-45 minutes (depending on how busy the airport is). In order to apply at the airport, you must complete a form using Kiosk Machines, which also takes the photo of you. Take your form from the Kiosk to make the payment (we recommend to have exact change in US dollars) at the airport bank. Once you have made the payment, you can take your receipt and proceed to the Immigration desk. Your visa is completed.

According to the new regulations 2020, the Visa Fee on Arrival amount to:
15 Days – 30 USD for a 15-day multiple entry visa
30 Days – 50 USD for a 30-day multiple entry visa
90 Days – 125 USD for a 90-day multiple entry visa

Before departure

Another way is to obtain a visa is from your nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission from your country. Swiss National Visa can for example be obtained from the Consulate General of Nepal in Geneva. Fill-up the form online through the following link:https://apply.nepalimmigration.gov.np/and send it with your passport to the Consulate General of Nepal in Geneva. You will find your passport with your visa in your mailbox.

SOME IMPORTANT FACTS TO REMEMBER

  • Your passport must be valid six months after the end of your trip;
  • Take the exact amount of visa fee in US Dollars according to the number of days of your stay in Nepal;
  • Take two passport photographs as reserve (in the case of defect of the online Kiosk machine);
  • If you are traveling to Tibet or Bhutan from Nepal, you might need a multi-entry Visa for Nepal. Revise your trip program once before applying for the visa.
