In the heart of the Alps, the route to the top of the Strahlhorn offers majestic views of many of the 4000M peaks of the Alps. With no technical difficulties, the Strahlhorn is the perfect summit for ski mountaineers who enjoy long, steady climbs. It is one of the most popular 4000m peaks in the Valais Alps.
WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS offers a day ski touring challenge.
The Strahlhorn can be done with skis from February to May-June depending on the conditions.

Early departure for our day-experience.
We take the cable car until Felskinn from we join the Britanniahütte at 3000 m. A first small descent on the Allalingletscher, before starting our ascent to the Adlerpass at 3789 m. From the pass, the routes steepens – and depending on the snow conditions – we climb the last part until the summit either with the skis or crampons. A stunning view of the surrounding four-thousand peaks rewards our climbing efforts.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Technically easy / Prior knowledge in skiing in different snow conditions required
FITNESS LEVEL
Good endurance for a 5-6-hour ascent and 4-hour descent.
