WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS PHILOSOPHY

WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS focuses on security and quality. We believe that this is the best way to guarantee an excellent and relaxed alpine experience. 

In addition, we adapt the group size to the conditions in the mountains in order to guarantee the best security for you and our guide. Hence, we benefit from greater flexibility and can better tailor a persona support. 

TECHNICAL LEVEL

Technical level: no previous experience necessary. This trek/glacier walk could be your first experience on a glacier. All you need is previous experience of backpacking in mid-mountain terrain.

Snow and ice slopes of up to 35° over short sections. The guide will teach you how to use ice axes and crampons.

PHYSICAL LEVEL

Good physical condition, able to walk 06 /07 hours (for the longest day) carrying a rucksack with personal belongings and picnics.

PERSONAL GEAR & EQUIPMENT

A full list of personal equipment will be given to you when you register.

OVERNIGHT STAYS IN SWISS MOUNTAIN HUTS

Please note that, depending on the season, there may be no running water in mountain huts. Similarly, in some refuges you may not be able to recharge your electronic devices. So remember to take an external recharger.

WILD YAK OPINION

A magnificent 3-day route in the Alps, which can be used as a first experience and to learn the basics of glacier travel. And for the more experienced, it’s an opportunity to feast your eyes!

There are no technical difficulties, but regular practice of mid-mountain hiking will help you get the most out of this crossing.

Be careful when packing your rucksack – an extra kilo can be a kilo too much!
