Our cultural journey begins with an introduction to the culture and traditions of Nepal, before continuing with a magnificent flight over Nepal while admiring the highest mountain range in the world. Between the guided tours of the monuments that make the beautiful reputation of the Kingdom of Bhutan, the magnificent landscapes, the cultural tour of WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS in Bhutan will make you discover the cultural treasures of the Himalayas while giving you a new energy.
WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS proposes a 5-day introduction to Bhutan that offers a fascinating exploration of Bhutan’s western valleys. It includes the pastoral beauty of Paro, and its guided sightseeing of some of the major cultural sites including 7th century Kyichu Temple, Drukgyel Dzong, and as highlight an awe-inspiring hike up to view Taktsang “Tigers Nest” Monastery, perched on a cliff face 700m above the valley with a breath-taking panorama. The bustling capital Thimphu is home to a number of striking monuments and landmarks, whilst the sub-tropical Punakha Valley features one of Bhutan’s most impressive Dzongs (fortresses). Along the way there will be many opportunities to meet villagers and discover their traditions. At the end of your days, take the time to get immerse in the luxurious and harmonious surroundings.
During the flight back to Nepal, you can admire once more the impressive Himalayan range and with clear weather Mount Everest!

Arrival Kathmandu (1350m)
Welcome by our WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS’ representative and transfer to your hotel.
Afternoon, short sightseeing of the Buddhist Stupa of Bodnath. A place full of peaceful harmony as introduction to the Himalayan culture.
Evening meal in common.

Guided sightseeing of the UNESCO heritage site of Bhaktapur.

Flight Kathmandu – Paro (Bhutan) (2195m)
Stunning panorama on the impressive Himalaya range during your flight to Paro, Bhutan.
Welcome by our WILD YAK representative at the airport of Paro.
Sightseeing of Paro the rest of the day.

Thimphu – Punakha (1250m)
Nice drive to Punakha across the Docchu pass at 3050m with a splendid panorama of the Himalaya.
Guided sightseeing of some of the most impressive Dzong of Bhutan during the afternoon.

Punakha – Paro
Drive back to Paro through the luxurious Bhutanese landscape with private car and chauffeur.

Paro and surroundings
Early morning start for the highlight of Bhutan: the hike to the famous “Tigers’ Nest” – the Taktsang Monastery perched on its cliff 700 meters above the valley. A lifetime experience per se.
Duration of the hike: about 1,5 hours uphill.
Rest of the day free to enjoy the exploration of Paro at leisure.

Day 08
Paro – Kathmandu
Flight back to Kathmandu, the colorful capital of Nepal.
Welcome at the airport by our WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS’ representative and transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the day free to enjoy the hustle Thamel and its hundreds of small souvenirs boutiques. An experience part of the discovery of Nepal.
Farewell dinner.
