WILD YAK Heliskiing. A Signature Journey.
North of the Annapurna, the landscape becomes too vast, too vertical, too silent to be reduced to a discipline. The mountain is not traversed, it is read, chosen, and respected. The helicopter does not save time. It changes scale.
Each morning begins without certainty. The weather has already started to decide. The guides observe, and a direction emerges, quietly, almost naturally. The rotor turns. The ground falls away. And there is only wind, ice, and lines that are never the same twice.
Here, skiing is never repetition. It is discovery. It’s is a story that will last for the rest of your life.
From Pokhara to the Annapurna Range
In Pokhara, everything pauses. The lake is still, the peaks above remind you that another world is already in motion. This is where the system is read, and the expedition takes form.
Higher up, silence becomes dense. Each drop is a precise decision between conditions, safety, and possibility. A descent is never chosen for its beauty. It is chosen for its truth. Nothing is fixed. The mountain leads. Each turn is finally your signature.
And when it ends, there is only the sense of having passed through a system rarely seen from within.
At WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS, we select our accommodation with the same philosophy that guides our mountain operations: authenticity, character, and a genuine connection to place.
In Pokhara, we stay up in the hill in the Dorje’s Resort & Spa.
After a day spent exploring remote alpine terrain, guests return to a setting designed for rest, reflection, and preparation for the next adventure in the mountains.
Why with WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS for your Heliskiing Adventure Journey?
- Exclusive skiing adventure in the majestic Himalayas: Choosing Nepal for a heliskiing journey is not about selecting a destination only. It is about choosing a way of moving through the mountains, with precision, patience, and respect for conditions that are never predictable but offers breathtaking landscapes.
- Expertise of the Himalaya: WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS operates in this environment as a guiding presence rather than a fixed programme. Each expedition is shaped in real time, responding to weather windows, snow quality, and mountain safety. Nothing is forced. Everything is read.
- Professional guidance: Personally led by our WILD YAK IFMGA Mountain Guide Alex Glasner
- Small group advantage: The experience is built around exclusively small groups of 4 participants per Mountain Guide, high attention to detail, and a commitment to safety that never compromises the quality of skiing.
- A Journey beyond the ordinary experience: Venture with your skis into Nepal’s least-explored high-altitude wilderness.
- Safety first: Helicopter operations, mountain logistics, and guiding decisions are fully integrated into a single system designed for efficiency in remote terrain. Daily weather forecast updates.
- A momentum: What remains is the essence of the expedition: time in the mountains, in its most direct form, with the flexibility to follow the best conditions wherever they appear. This is not heliskiing as a fixed itinerary.
It is heliskiing as a living mountain system.

In addition, WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS encourages travelers to actively participate in community-based activities and respect local customs and traditions. We highly encourage reusable water bottles, minimizing single-use plastics. We also provide proper waste disposal facilities during the trekking.
Furthermore, WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS greatly emphasize the well-being of porters and the WILD YAK guiding Team. We are committed to treating porters fairly and providing them with better working conditions by limiting the weight carried by each of them. FAQ
-
The journey
What’s the best way to get to Nepal?
Many airlines offer flights to Kathmandu International Airport. Most airlines fly directly to most countries via Doha, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong and New Delhi.
When should I book my ticket?
If you see a good deal and want to book your flights as soon as possible, make sure you can change your tickets, otherwise you risk losing your ticket in case we have to cancel the trip if we don’t reach the minimum number of participants. We remain at your disposal for booking your international flights.
Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Can I get a cheap ticket online?
The risk with these tickets is that you generally have to pay a lot more if you need to make changes to your ticket. We strongly recommend that you use a travel agent for your trip, as they can help you solve many problems. In the long run, they save you money! We use professional travel agents for all our staff and guide bookings. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
What happens if I arrive before the start of the trek or want to return later?
For a trip as long as this, we ask that you arrive in Kathmandu on time to ensure that your luggage arrives on time and that you have time to recover from jet lag before your Himalayan experience. It is difficult to catch up with the group if you arrive late and are waiting for lost luggage!
If you’d like to arrive earlier or leave later to enjoy Kathmandu or discover other places in Nepal, we’re happy to help you organise your extended stay.
However, please bear in mind that this is a long journey and participants usually want to return home as soon as possible after the trek. That’s why we recommend that you take flexible tickets.
-
Is someone coming to pick me up at the airport?
A WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS representative will be waiting outside Kathmandu airport to meet you on arrival.
-
Are there any entry or visa requirements?
Yes, there are. Please refer to the « Visa » section of our website. Make sure you have the suggested amount in US dollars for your visa application in cash when you arrive in Kathmandu.
Currently, up to 15-day visa costs USD 30, up to 30-day visa costs USD 50 and up to 90-day visa costs USD 125 for most nationalities.
