Literally, camping means that the whole Trekking is done together with a local Team, constituted of a Trekking Guide, Kitchen Team (Cook and kitchen Boys) and porters. At the end of the day, a campsite is installed and delicious meals are prepared by the Kitchen Team. The participants are sleeping in tents and eating in a common dining tent. Actually, it is like a group of nomads moving from one place to another with all necessary material, food and utensils.
Besides the human factors, the interesting part of a Camping Trek is that it takes place in the wild of the remote places of the Himalaya. The most popular Camping Trekking are found in the Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Dhaulagiri areas, besides many other unexplored places in the Himalaya. No internet, no phone calls, only few other tourists, sometimes even no human settlements for a couple of days. In my opinion, it is essential to rejuvenate one’s mind from the hustling busy life of the modern World.
Over all, one can say that Camping Trekking is more expensive that Lodge Trekking due to the number of staff and porters according to the material to carry. But it provides more work to the local people and at the same time it is one of the best way to explore the nature, to relax our mind and soul.
