29.05.2015 today is the 8th International Mount Everest day which is observed since 2008 commemorating the historic feat of the first human ascent to the world’s tallest mountain, known locally as Sagarmatha by Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary on this very day. Celebrations of the Day have been subdued due to the devastating April 25th earthquake that hit more than half of Nepal including triggering an avalanche at Everest Base Camp. A morning rally was organized to mark International Mt Everest day in the presence of newly elected Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation KRIPASUR SHERPA.
Andrea and Norbu congratulated the new minister and hope to have better tourism facilities in the upcoming season.
