Due to the massive earthquake that has affected Nepal on 25 April 2015 and the numerous aftershocks, the 2015 spring trekking and expeditions season in the Himalaya had to prematurely take an end. Besides the numerous human and material losses, this caused also an immense prejudice to the entire tourism industry in Nepal which raise the question is Nepal Safe or Safe Nepal.


Is Nepal safe for the next high season, which starts beginning of next September?

The Ministry of culture, tourism and civil aviation of the Nepal government has recently declared and assured in the media that Nepal is safe enough to visit.

Except for the earthquake worst hit districts (out of 75, only 8 are seriously affected), life has come back to its normalcy.

For this coming autumn season, WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS will adapt its programs by introducing and promoting personalized trekking tours with tents and cooking staff to give work to a wider range of local people. This will help them to rebuild their houses and grow economically. Thanks to Norbu’s high network with trekking guides and climbing Sherpa, WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS team could collect the necessary information related to its programs for the coming season, which are safe to operate. These programs are also confirmed by the Trekking Agent Association of Nepal, of which WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS is a member.
