Tashi is a dynamic and versatile new generation Sherpa, who has a contemporary worldwide mindset, even though he studied in the fancy Darjeeling in India. He still cherishes the vivid memory of his childhood in the small Ghunsa village at 3600 meters above sea level that is situated in beneath of the third highest peak: Mount Kanchanjunga. During the seven years he was working in the Himalaya, he got many opportunities to travel around the World and to successfully climb some of the biggest mountains like Mount Everest (with Norbu Sherpa), Mount Manaslu and Ama Dablam. Besides climbing, Tashi manages the official work of WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS and is one of the significant members of the Team.

Ang Gelu has more than two-decade experience in guiding around the Himalaya as climbing Sirdar and trekking Guide. His legendary climbing proficiency consists of the ascents of Mount Everest from both routes (Nepal and Tibet), Mount Cho-Oyu, Mount Manaslu and many other mountains of Nepal and Tibet. Ang Gelu is also one of the first Himalayan cyclists in Nepal, who took the challenge to bike in the harsh terrain of Mustang and Tibetan plateau. Cycling more than 2000 kilometers from the Indian Ocean (sea level) to the Mount Cho-Oyu Basecamp, with straight climbs of such mountain was the paramount glory of his career.

Honest and straightforward, Pasang Sherpa was born and grew up running on the meadows at the bottom of the third highest peak in the World: Mount Kanchenjunga. From his early age, Pasang dreamed of scaling Mount Kanchanjunga. He did it not once but thrice! He is one of the very few Sherpa who have climbed Kanchenjunga three times and two times K2. Beside these two challenging mountains, he summited several times Mount Everest, Manaslu and Cho-Oyu. His great experience, modest and friendly nature mark him as one of the remarkable Sirdar for WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS. On 21 May 2016, Pasang Sherpa along with his Guests, Norbu Sherpa and Andrea Zimmermann (founders of WILD YAK EXPEDITIONS) were the first people to be on top of Mount Everest.

Sonam is from Khunde(3840 meters), a small beautiful village in Everest Region just above Namche. He has earned a Higher Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management. With 12 years of experience in Tourism, Sonam worked as an assistant guide for the couple of years which helped him to be a qualified experienced guide today. Sonam is multilingual – fluent in English and speaks good Chinese & Hindi and his native languages of Nepali and Sherpa.

After working two years in the office of a local travel company, his passion for exploring and mountaineering brought him out of the office and he restarted his career as a kitchen boy in Trekking. Thanks to his determination and vision he advanced quite fast, which gave him the opportunity to lead and climb numerous of the highest mountains: Everest, 8848m (8 times), Lhotse, 8546m (1 time), Cho Oyu, 8201m (4 times), Dhaulagiri, 8167m (1 times), Manaslu, 8163m (3 times), Gasherbrum II, 8035m (2 times), Shishapangma,8013m (2 time), Muztagh Ata, 7540m (1 time), Annapurna IX, 7525m (2 times), Peak Lenin, 7135m (1 time), Himlung Himal, 7126m (1 time), Baruntse, 7120m (1 time), Lakpa-Ri, 7063m (2 times), Mount Kun, 7035m (2 times), Ama Dablam, 6856 m (2 times) and many other peaks of 6000 meters in the Himalayas.
In 2008, Norbu Sherpa was one of the actor’s in the movie SHERPA’S The True Hero’s of Mount Everest as a Sirdar for the organization of the Mount Everest expedition. The movie shows the real life of the Sherpa’s while they are on expeditions with clients. Norbu Sherpa figures also in numerous newspapers and magazines from all around the World: The New York Times, SPIEGEL ONLINE, SRF (Swiss TV), DW, watson.ch.
Norbu Sherpa was born in Ghunsa (3800m), Taplejung (Nepal) beneath of the third highest peak of the World, the Mount Kanchenjunga (8586m). After having spent his childhood running after yaks, he was sent to Darjeeling (India), land of tea plantations to attend school and to study. He then traveled around the globe visiting Switzerland, France, China/Tibet, Sichuan, Kirgizstan, India, Pakistan. He speaks fluently various languages: English, Indian, Tibetan, Nepali.
